Our Approach
Over the years we have refined our approach to each new project, large and small, to define for ourselves and our clients a clear path and structured progression from initial meetings to deployment of functioning websites. We call this approach The 7 Cs.
Consult
Naturally, before any work is done we have to learn and document a number of things to gain an understanding of what each client requires. We consult with clients so that we can build a functional and creative framework of knowledge based on what is required, what users expectations are, and how the proposed online brand experience fits relates to other online and offline strategies.
Create
Once technical and creative specification documents have been agreed we create initial concept designs. These mock-ups give clients a visual representation of how key pages will look. The concept will address layout, structure, navigation, colours, imagery, branding, areas of priority, information flow, and visual impact. This stage allows everyone time to modify and optimise visual cues and to explore the evolving brand experience.
Code
When approved, these key pages are converted into web standard compliant XHTML and a skeleton site is provided so that clients can judge how the site looks in a browser. This early version of the site may introduce simple functionality so that clients can click through pages with dummy content. Clients get an idea of the user experience and at this early phase of development it is far easier to adjust the useability flow than when development work has been well under way.
Control
We build all our sites on our own content management system (CMS) which we call Caboodle. Once a site has been coded we integrate it with the CMS and clients can immediately begin adding their own content. Of course, managing the website may only be a part of their business requirements. Clients may need additional work done to integrate the website with in-house stock control systems, or have live online customer support available, or an intranet for internal communications and reference. We can handle integration with legacy systems, third party APIs or, where necessary, custom build unique database solutions ourselves. Nexus451 can give you as much control over how your site functions as you need.
Communicate
When they commission a new website clients make a decision to build brand awareness and allegience. Nexus451 provides the platform from which they can reach out with clear and consistent messages that strengthen their position. Aside from simple brochure sites nexus451 can utilise other methods that give clients an ability to interact with their customers: newsletters, eBrochures, RSS feeds, blogs, etc.
Captivate
With numerous ways in which to connect with users and draw them into the site it's just as important to keep them coming back. To captivate visitors a site must provide relevant content, original text that is regularly updated, text that's structured, orderly, search engine friendly, rich in keywords and is the type of content that users expect to find easily on the site. With analytical software clients can tell where users are coming to the site from, where they're going within the site, and where they leave. This information is a valuable resource in terms of increasing interest in site visitors.

With the site launched and a successful relationship built Nexus451 will continually looks at how best to help clients achieve their goals.
